Something for Almost Nothing!

Muilt-Tasking Weight Loss

Multi-Tasking The Pounds Off

Are you one of those people who drive around the Gym parking lot looking for the closest spot to the door so you can go inside and walk for a ½ hour on the treadmill? Go to any gym parking lot at 5pm and you will see a parade cars doing just that.

Stop a minute and take a look at your average day. Where can you burn some extra calories by multi-tasking? In the industry we call this “Accidental Exercise”. Changing some simple daily habits can make some pretty drastic changes over time.

By parking far from the door, taking the stairs or making the extra trip your can rack up a tremendous amount of extra burned calories in the course of a day. Remember that a pound of fat equals about 3500 calories. Do the math: If you can burn 115 extra calories a day by multi-tasking you will loose about a pound of fat a month. That’s 12 pounds a year before adding in a weekly workout routine or cutting calories.

Other “Accidental Exercise”: Walk the dog, yard work, shovel snow, walk to the store, walk to the park for lunch, jog or walk to the gym, etc, etc, etc.
